Today I'm cleaning out my closet and saying bye-bye to all of the old, ugly black and navy blue men's t-shirts that have overtaken the biggest part of my wardrobe for the past several years. And... let me tell you... it is a fantastic and freeing feeling!!! Tossing these disgusting t-shirts into the trash bag is the most fun I've had in weeks! hehe
And right here and right now I vow that I will NEVER again buy or fit into a men's 4X t-shirt!!!
From now on... it's going to be pretty, feminine, colorful clothing for me! And I'm happy to say that a few girly blouses that I purchased last summer... but was never able to wear because they were too small... do fit me now! Woo hoo!
You know... I really can't believe how good getting rid of these old t-shirts feels! So let me suggest that if YOU have anything old and ugly in your closet that YOU have been hiding in... let today be the day that you throw it into the trash! Because I think you'll be getting rid of more than the ratty clothing. You'll be getting rid of the negative thoughts that went along WITH the clothing.
At least that seems to be what's happening with me. Today I'm wearing a nice blouse instead of an ugly men's t-shirt. And I totally feel like a new woman. Actually... I feel like a WOMAN. Period.
So... anything need to come out of YOUR closet and go into the trash? Let me know... because I'm nosy like that. hehe

I know how wonderful it feels to clean out a closet full of old, baggy clothes.
Good for you for deciding to throw those t-shirts out and to wear some clothes you like! You're a lovely lady, inside and out, no need to hide yourself in men's t-shirts!
You're making frilly, pretty women's clothes sound so awesome I might start wearing them myself. ;)
WAY TO GO!!! I have a ton of clothes that need to come out of the closet. But I'm still waiting... waiting to lose just a little more weight so that i can feel better about spending the money on new clothes. When i finally need new pants as they won't stay on any more... i'll clean out the closet. I'm hoping it'll be soon. :) LOL
Oh I did however get rid of all the granny panties. :) YEAH!! :)
Congratulations on cleaning out your closet! I have been doing that, too. It really is a very liberating feeling, isn't it?
I have recently traveled a road which took me from a size 3X 9at 298 pounds) to a 16/18 (245 pounds).
The journey may not always be easy, but it's the destination that matters most!
Wishing you the best of success.
Terri
I like to purge the closet periodically. It really does feel good.
I do have one pair of jeans and 1 top that I keep as a souvenir of sorts from when I was 100 pounds heavier. Just to look at sometimes.
I have to admit, I've never really worn T-shirts, even at my heaviest. I've always gone flattering clothes. But there was a lot of black and my resolution is to never buy another black item of clothing, not even shoes, belts or bags. It's not my color, so as soon as the few black items that still fit me become too large, I'll be a bird of paradise! I'm already wearing lots of jewel colors, which suit my complexion and make me look my best.
About two weeks ago I delved into "the suitcase" to see if there are some items which fit me, which there was. They've now been washed and are waiting for me in the closet. But ideally I should now go through the closet and remove some of the stuff that have become unwearable - I must find a charity to donate them to.
Yay for girl clothes!
I love these comments! And, Jack... I actually laughed out loud when I read yours. lol You are crazy... but in a good way! hehe
Well done!!!
I did mine a couple of weeks ago and have a large pile of clothes that I can no longer wear.. thing is I have more that are too bigh than what I can wear... and not all black either!!
Keep it up... your doing great!
I think Jack has a thing for women's clothing lol.
It is a great feeling getting rid of those old clothes and wearing things that fit and look feminine. I smiled through you're whole post, I'm so happy for ya.
Congrats! i think I'll try this! :)
Congratulations!! I have been working towards this for awhile-replacing my uglies with new and pretties :) It's makes a HUGE difference.
Now when my new and pretties start going down in sizes I'll be really happy ;)
CC,
I am so proud of you!!! :) Way to go! I love that you already have some cute "new" stuff to wear and that you're never going back to a men's 4x.
WAY TO GO! :)
I recently did the same - and when I gave them away to Goodwill, I feel SO good. First, they're out of my life forever, and secondly they will give someone else something to wear.
I am so proud of you though, way to go! :)
Thanks for the inspiration. I think a closet cleaning is in order here. It may just be the inspiration I need to get back on track!
Thanks!
What a great feeling! I am looking forward to putting my fleece jackets away. I wear them on 90 degree days to cover the belly rolls.
Very good post. Isn't it amazing how hard it is to give up some of the bigger sizes, at least it is for me. I cling to the largest sizes because they don't.
But now I'm starting to find the value in wearing what really fits for me now. At nearly 200 pounds lighter, it's a completely different wardrobe. And the biggest sizes are ridiculous on me now.
My best always---you're doing so fantastic,
Sean
I sold all my bigger clothes when I hit 214 pounds, and now that I have regained I am in deep trouble! I absolutely refuse to buy more big clothes. BIG motivation to lose the weight again or be naked...
Congrats on your loss to date. I remember getting rid of my big clothes it was very freeing. I'm still a long way to goal but I'll get there and have more clothes to rid myself of.
Hooray for pretty blouses and getting rid of ugly men's shirts!
So happy for you. Congrats on your continued perseverance.

so proud of you!
Great idea! I'm so happy for you :) I spent a long time wearing old, ratty, too-tight clothes because I never wanted to go shopping since I was always SURE that I was just about to lose the weight.
So silly! In May I went shopping for clothes that are actually in my current size and feel soooo much better.
I haven't gotten rid of the old stuff yet though....maybe that's the next step :)
I am so excited to hear this CC!! That's amazing that you're throwing out the past and embracing your new, smaller shape and are ready to show it off in pretty new clothes!! You totally deserve to feel beautiful my dear, because you are SO gorgeous inside and out!!
Wear your feminine tops proudly, you have SO earned it! I've done a closet purge recently too and it is such a wonderful feeling :)

wonderful! after all you have accomplished, you deserve to feel wonderful and dont let anything hold you back.
Way to go! Closet clearing can be so much fun... especially throwing out the humungus stuff you no longer need and will never need again, because this is for life, yes?
And go for the girlie stuff. It just feels so much better to be a woman!
