Healthy You Challenge - Week 19 Update

How in the world could it be Week 19 of the Healthy You Challenge already? Wasn't I supposed to have lost about 40 pounds by now??? What in the world happened??? Are you sure it's not the first week of January??? That's what it feels like to me... because I feel like I haven't lost a pound in months. And I haven't. Along with Elvis, my mojo has totally left the building, if you know what I mean.

I'm still hanging on to the hope of getting an elliptical soon. And honestly... I feel like getting one is my only hope of losing any significant amount of weight this year. Lord, please help me to be able to get one soon.

I just haven't been focused on weight loss lately. Sometimes I feel like it is hopeless and I'll never lose weight. But I know that's not true. I know that somewhere inside of me is a skinny girl just waiting to be set free from the fat prison that has held her captive for years. She's going to be set free. I just know she is.

I hope all you fellow challenge members (and everyone else) are all doing well. I'm still working on my blog roll, and I do hope to get it posted soon.

Busy as a Bee

Let me just say... I am SO sorry that my posting and commenting has slacked off recently! I have just been very busy catching up on paperwork for my hubby's business, cleaning and cooking for dinner guests, and attempting to get a life in this town that still does not feel at all like home.

I've been doing well with my eating lately, and my pants feel a bit looser. Yay for me! I'm feeling no urge to step on the scale though. And I don't think I will until my pants are actually so loose they drop to my ankles. Let's hope when that happens... it happens here at home... not at Walmart. lol But with hips like mine... I don't see that happening any time soon. hehe

Hubby is being very supportive of my idea to get an elliptical, and if all goes as planned, I may be able to purchase one this month. Yippee! I hope everything works out, because the sooner I get one... the better. A few years ago, I wore out two cheap little exercise/ski machines. (Not Nordic Track ones... cheap ones I found for about $120.00 at some department store.) I really enjoyed using them, so I have a feeling that I'm going to love using the elliptical as well. And I sure am looking forward to burning some major calories and toning some major muscle!

If you're like me, you like to relax on the weekends. And sometimes it's really tempting to relax our healthy lifestyle change and give in to temptations and bad habits... i.e. metamorphosing into a couch potato with a death grip on a spoon and a pint of Ben and Jerry's.

Healthy You Challenge - Week 16 Update

I don't know what to say for today's update... other than I'm still here and I'm still fat. I haven't been able to report any significant weight loss in months. Just when I think I've finally found my mojo... it quickly evaporates into thin air. I have got to get out of this deep, dark funk that I am in.

I know that I need to get more exercise. And on a positive note... I am researching ellipticals. If any of you have any recommendations, I'm all ears. And thank you in advance.

On the food front, hubby and I have been ordering out way too much. And he's been bringing home donuts. So I told him last night to not bring home donuts anymore.

Small steps, I know... but at least it's something.
